Where Downtown Meets Over the Rhine

Who’s Behind the 4U Fashion Boutique?

Fantastic holiday dress & necklace

73 Degree Clothing, based in New York, is very popular.

Andy Worley and Giovanny Mira are the men behind 4U Fashion Boutique at 16 E 12th Street. They  moved to Cincinnati after living in Boston and New York City for several years. They wanted to bring cool, fashion forward clothing and jewelry at affordable prices to Cincinnati. The clothing options are for men and women and range from everyday wear t-shirts and jeans to perfect holiday party dresses and blazers for men. We talked to Andy about the store, Cincinnati and what a day in the life of a small business is like.

Why did you start 4U Fashion Boutique in Cincinnati?
We’ve always loved fashion and while there are thousands of boutiques in New York City where you can get fun, affordable fashion, there just aren’t that many options in Cincinnati. We wanted to bring what we saw in New York to Cincinnati shoppers who are looking for a unique pieces or jeans but don’t want to shop at the mall. I’m from Cincinnati and came back to visit friends and family, Giovanni and I saw the opportunity to open a boutique in a growing community. We opened in June, 2010 and the apparel and jewelry in the store ranges from $20 – $100.

Who are some the designers you carry? Are any local?

73 Degree Clothing, based in New York, has been popular here. We carry men’s jeans and women’s tank tops. Our dress selection is very popular and sourced from several designers. We also carry a lot of one-of-a-kind jewelry and handbags. The majority of our necklaces are from Serket Jewelry, a locally-based design company. Brittney Kelley Handbags are designed in Cincinnati and Rosebud 4 U’s denim bags and purses are also from a local designer.

What’s a typical day like?

There isn’t a typical day! We’re here in the store helping customers, looking for new merchandise, doing inventory, managing our Facebook and Twitter accounts and fitting models – we do it all. We’ve done a lot of fashion shows for the holidays and the 4th Annual Cincinnati’s Greatest is coming up on Sunday at 20th Century Theatre.
